Ricochet Presentation

Ricochet is an innovative feature that provides the firefighter with the best possible chance of receiving an evacuation signal from outside the fire ground.

Even when out of range or when impregnable materials/obstacles block a signal, every EMU is utilised as a transmitter. This relays the signal to the EMU outside the signal range for increased safety.

Ricochet requires the main components of the IRIS system fitted to Contour or ProPak breathing apparatus.

• EMU - (Electonic Monitoring Unit) worn by the firefighter as part of the breathing apparatus.
• PASS - (Personal Alarm Safety System) infra-red motion detector and alarm, worn by the firefighter as part of the breathing apparatus.
• Base Unit - Hand held control unit operated by the fire ground controller.
